Michael Jackson Songs – Deep Cuts
Many Michael Jackson songs are some of the most famous and recognizable tunes of all time. But, believe it or not, I’m not the biggest fan of the majority of his work outside of four albums (from Off The Wall to Dangerous). Well, that is until the 2014 release of Xscape, which is the best MJ album in over 20 years. It’s seems as though almost every good song he had to offer became a hit. So when I had the idea to dig for a “deep cuts” playlist, I actually had quite a difficult time selecting relatively unknown songs to include. Maybe I’m judging him with a higher standard since his two most successful albums (Thriller – most copies sold all time; Bad – five consecutive #1 singles) were so good that I couldn’t use any tracks from either of them. Even Dangerous (a personal favorite) has at least 7 classic records, one of which I included on this playlist.
Nevertheless, the songs on this playlist are here for a reason. I would never include anything just to take up space. So these are, in my opinion, the best songs in his repertoire that were passed by for whatever reasons. After digging deep, they are now part of my rotation and I hope to introduce you to a new favorite.
